Stretch marks are much more common than you might think. Almost anyone can get them - and almost anyone can treat them successfully.

Stretch marks appear for a number of reasons. They might be caused by weight gain, muscle growth, pregnancy - or even just as a natural part of your body’s development.

They affect both women and men, usually around the torso or upper arms and legs. Typically they first appear as a purple-pink colour before turning silver-white.

If you're tired of unsightly marks on your body, the good news is that there's a solution out there.

A laser treatment for stretch marks

At Dundrum Clinic, our laser treatment can remove stretch marks safely, quickly and effectively.

Rather than only treating the surface layer of skin, we use targeted lasers to target the damaged scar tissue beneath the surface layer. This is a more effective treatment for stretch marks, as this means the surrounding skin quickly regenerates.

You'll be left with softer, smoother skin and your stretch marks banished forever.

Frequently asked questions

Stretch marks are coloured marks that appear on your skin after your body goes through a transformation. Although they often appear after pregnancy, they can also appear due to weight gain, muscle gain or even simply as a result of your body's natural development.

Stretch marks tend to appear darker at first before fading over time. Although they're harmless and can disappear naturally over time, sometimes they can lead to scarring.

Stretch marks normally appear in areas of your body where fat is stored such as the abdomen, chest, upper arms, legs and hips.

After rapid weight or muscle gain, the scar tissue beneath our skin becomes stretched and damaged. This leads to the appearance of stretch marks on the surface of our skin.

Laser treatment for stretch marks works by using laser energy to break down the damaged scar tissue beneath your skin. When this happens, your body is stimulated to produce new tissue. This process improves the appearance of stretch marks over the course of several treatments.

As ever, this depends on each patient. Some see visible results after their first session, whilst for others it can take up to 10 treatments. However, you can expect to see results after 3-5 sessions.
